Christ as the Wisdom and Word of God
Jesus Christ is not just a wise teacher — He is the very wisdom and Word of God in human form. Everything God wants to say to humanity, He says through Jesus. True wisdom isn't found in philosophy or human reasoning; it's found in knowing Christ.
Core Concepts
Interpretation Guardrails
- •Jesus Christ is the eternal Word of God and must not be reduced to merely a moral teacher or prophet.
- •True wisdom is ultimately found in Christ, not in autonomous human reasoning apart from Him.
- •God's self-revelation is centered in His Son, so interpretations must honor Christ's divine identity.
- •The treasures of wisdom and knowledge are fulfilled in Christ rather than in rival spiritual systems.
Misconceptions We Reject
- Reducing Christ to an impersonal attribute called wisdom
- Treating biblical wisdom as detached from Christ
- Using John 1 to deny the personal deity of the Son
- Confusing created wisdom with the eternal Son of God

What We Reject
(1)Arianism (Wisdom as Created)
The Claim
Christ as the 'Wisdom and Word of God' is a created intermediary — the first act of God's creation, not God Himself. The Logos is a lesser divine being through whom God created all else.
Christ as the Word and Wisdom of God is not a created intermediary but God Himself. The Logos was with God and was God — co-essential, not created. He is the wisdom in whom all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden, not a channel of it.
Original Language: The Greek 'Logos' (G3056) in John 1:1 — 'The Word was God' ('theos ēn ho logos') — the anarthrous 'theos' predicates full deity of the Logos. 'Sophia' (G4678) in 1 Corinthians 1:24 — 'Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God' — 'tou Theou' is objective genitive: Christ IS God's wisdom, not a created expression of it. 'Apaugasma' (G541) in Hebrews 1:3 — 'the radiance of the glory of God' — denotes co-essential effulgence, not a derivative creation.
