Divine Judicial Hardening
When people persistently reject God's truth, He may give them over to spiritual hardness as a form of judgment. They become unable to see, understand, or repent — not because God is unfair, but because they chose rebellion and He let them have what they wanted. They remain responsible for their unbelief.

Interpretation Guardrails
- •Judicial hardening is a righteous act of God in response to persistent rejection of His truth.
- •Those who are hardened remain morally responsible for their unbelief and rebellion.
- •Hardening does not make God unjust or the author of sin.
- •The doctrine must preserve both God's sovereignty in judgment and human accountability in unbelief.
Misconceptions We Reject
- Judicial hardening means hardened people are innocent victims without moral responsibility
- Every temporary struggle with doubt proves that a person has been irreversibly hardened
- God's hardening is arbitrary cruelty rather than righteous judgment
- Judicial hardening should be treated as identical in every respect to the broader doctrine of reprobation
