General Revelation Through Creation

God has made some truths about Himself visible to everyone through the natural world. When you look at creation — its order, beauty, and power — it points to a Creator. This 'general revelation' is enough to make everyone accountable to seek God, even though it doesn't tell the whole story.

Interpretation Guardrails

  • •Creation truly reveals God's existence and certain divine attributes to all people.
  • •General revelation is sufficient to make humanity accountable before God.
  • •General revelation does not provide the full content of saving revelation.
  • •The natural world should be interpreted as a witness to the Creator rather than as self-explanatory apart from Him.

Misconceptions We Reject

  • General revelation gives exhaustive knowledge of God
  • Creation is itself divine and should be worshiped
  • Unaided human reason is the source of revelation
  • General revelation makes inspired Scripture unnecessary

What We Reject

Atheistic Evolution and Naturalism

The Claim

The cosmos and all life arose through unguided natural processes over billions of years. There is no Creator; creation's order is an illusion of random chance, and general revelation is merely nature speaking for itself.

Creation is not the product of blind chance but the intentional work of a personal Creator. General revelation through creation leaves all people without excuse — the visible world declares an invisible, wise, powerful Maker. Evolutionary naturalism suppresses this truth in unrighteousness.

Original Language: The Hebrew 'bārāʾ' (H1254) in Genesis 1:1 — 'In the beginning, God created' — used exclusively with God as subject, denoting creation ex nihilo (out of nothing), not rearrangement of pre-existing matter. 'Sap̄er' (H5608) in Psalm 19:1 — 'the heavens declare the glory of God' — 'maggîd' H5046 'proclaim' is a participle: continuous, active declaration. 'Aorata' (G517) in Colossians 1:16 — 'all things... visible and invisible' — 'panta' 'all' leaves nothing to chance.
