What We Reject
(1)Full Preterism (No Future Return)
The Claim
All biblical prophecy — including the Second Coming, the resurrection, and the final judgment — was fulfilled in AD 70 with the destruction of Jerusalem. Christ will not return bodily in the future.
Scripture presents Christ's return as a future, visible, bodily event — not a past spiritual fulfillment. Every eye will see Him, the dead will be raised, and the final judgment will occur. The AD 70 destruction was a historical judgment, not the consummation of all things.
Original Language: The Greek 'erchetai' (G2064) in Revelation 1:7 — 'He is coming with the clouds' — present middle/passive deponent: a certain, future coming. 'Harpagēsometha' (G726) in 1 Thessalonians 4:17 — 'we who are alive... will be caught up' — future passive: a yet-future event. 'Epiphaneian' (G2015) in Titus 2:13 — 'the blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ' — 'epiphaneia' denotes a visible, glorious manifestation, not a past spiritual event.
